HIV HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES PLANNING COUNCIL OF NEW YORK CITY AMENDED BYLAWS

ARTICLE I - DESCRIPTION OF THE PLANNING COUNCIL
Section 1. Duties. The duties of the New York City HIV Health and Human Services Planning Council ("Planning Council" or "the Council") shall include but not be limited to:

A)  Establishing binding priorities for the allocation of funds as provided by Title I of the Ryan white CARE Act of 1990, Public Law 101-381, as such Act may be amended from time to time or superseded by a new law;

B)  Developing a recommended comprehensive plan for the organization and delivery of HIV-related health and human services in the New York City metropolitan area that is compatible with all existing State or local plans regarding the provision of health and human services to individuals with HIV disease and with all laws and regulations regarding discrimination in the provision of these services;

C)  Assessing, monitoring and making recommendations to the Mayor or the appropriate City agency regarding the efficiency of the administrative mechanism in rapidly allocating funds to the areas of greatest need within the eligible area; and

D)  Monitoring and making recommendations to the Mayor or the appropriate City agency regarding compliance with the priorities established by the Planning Council.

The Planning Council may assume additional responsibilities as may from time to time be proposed by the Mayor of the City of New York.
